Over the past few years, indoor direction finding has emerged as a highly discussed subject across many industries. The availability of this technology offers companies a precise solution for monitoring individuals and assets within buildings, factories, and other environments.

Our team has conducted extensive research and developed several efficient minimum systems, incorporating industry standards, which have demonstrated successful performance in real-world demos. These systems encompass Bluetooth, WiFi, and ISM-UHF frequencies.

Retro-fit designs: While designing our demo units, we considered design features that would make our integration to the current/existing technology hassle-free and seamless.

Cost-effectiveness: We have prioritized affordability in our proof-of-concept (demo) units, ensuring that the production cost remains below $200 even in low-quantity builds.

Retro-fit compatibility: We have taken into consideration seamless integration with current/existing technology during the design of our demo units. This ensures hassle-free adoption and compatibility with the existing infrastructure.

Based on our initial study, we believed we could bring the unit price as low as $42 for mass production (i.e. over 10,000 units). On the marketing side, our research showed a price of $199 would result in successful outcome with over 100% profit margin (considering the cost for advertisement and etc.)

Project Objective and Duration

The objectives for this project are as follows:

  • Initial GUI or APP design

  • Initial prototype with limited functionality

Project Duration: The project spanned a total of 9 months, involving approximately 750 hours of work.
